The Durham Family Justice Center

The Durham Family Justice Center (DFJC) opened in 2023 as a partnership between the Durham Crisis Response Center (DCRC), Durham County, and Legal Aid of North Carolina.

DCRC’s Legal Advocates can:

  • assist you with filing for a domestic violence protection order (DVPO)

  • assist you with filing for victims compensation

  • accompany you while you make a police report

DCRC’s Crisis Services can:

  • provide safety planning and case management

  • provide referrals to emergency shelter

  • assist you with filing for the Address Confidentiality Program

Services are on a walk-in basis Mon.-Fri. 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at 101 E. Morgan St. in Durham. If you are seeking a DVPO, the earlier you get to our offices, the better. Children are welcome in our office, but they are not allowed in the courtroom.

For more information, call our administrative line at 919-403-9425.

We are excited to announce that several Durham-based community partners will be joining the Durham Family Justice Center with office space! Stay tuned for updates.
