The Durham Family Justice Center
The Durham Family Justice Center (DFJC) opened in 2023 as a partnership between the Durham Crisis Response Center (DCRC), Durham County, and Legal Aid of North Carolina.
DCRC’s Legal Advocates can:
assist you with filing for a domestic violence protection order (DVPO)
assist you with filing for victims compensation
accompany you while you make a police report
DCRC’s Crisis Services can:
provide safety planning and case management
provide referrals to emergency shelter
assist you with filing for the Address Confidentiality Program
Services are on a walk-in basis Mon.-Fri. 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at 101 E. Morgan St. in Durham. If you are seeking a DVPO, the earlier you get to our offices, the better. Children are welcome in our office, but they are not allowed in the courtroom.
