GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

The Director of Legal Advocacy provides leadership and oversight of DCRC’s Legal Advocacy Program, ensuring effective delivery of legal advocacy, crisis intervention, court advocacy, and related support services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking.

The Director oversees program operations, staff supervision and development, program planning, quality assurance, community partnerships, volunteer and intern programming, data and reporting, and coordination with criminal and civil justice systems.

The Director also represents DCRC in relevant community and professional settings and works to strengthen systems and services for survivors. The Director may maintain a limited client caseload or provide direct support when needed.

Client safety, confidentiality, autonomy, and dignity are paramount. All services are provided using a trauma-informed, survivor-centered approach that recognizes the impact of trauma and creates an environment where survivors feel heard, believed, respected, and supported.
